Muhammad Al-Kulaini on the fate of Abd-ur-Rahman Ibn Muljam in the book Al-Kafi

Muhammad Ibn Ya’qub Al-Kulaini writes:
Ali Ibn Muhammad reported from Sahl Ibn Ziyad, who reported from Muhammad Ibn Abdi l-Hamid, that Hasan Ibn Jahm said: “I said to Ar-Rida (a.): “The commander of the faithful (a.) knew his murderer and the night he was murdered and the place where he was murdered and his statement when he heard the noise of the geese in the house: “Noise that will be followed by lamentations.” And the statement of Umm Kulthum: “If only you would pray this night in the house and instruct another to lead the people in prayer.” But he did not agree with her and went in and out that night without a weapon and he knew that Ibn Muljam, May God curse him, will kill him with a sword and that was something that was impossible to resist.” Then he said: “That was so, but he was given a choice that night so that the decrees of God would be fulfilled.” [Al-Kafi, Volume 1, Page 259, Hadith 4]

Muhammad Ibn Yahya reported of Ali Ibn Hasan, who reported of Ali Ibn Ibrahim Al-Uqaili, who said in a retracing manner (Marfu’): “He said: “When Ibn Muljam had committed the attack on the Commander of the Faithful (a.), he said to Hasan (a.): “My son, if i die, then execute Ibn Muljam and raise him a grave in Kunasah. Throw him in there. Thus it is one of the valleys of hell.” Al-Uqaili described that the place is located at the gate Taq-ul-Mahamil. It is a place for roasting meat and selling heads.” [Al-Kafi, Volume 1, Page 300, Hadith 7]

Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes:
“It may be that it became one of the valleys of hell only because it serves as a burial place for that monster. May God curse him for all eternity.” [Mir’at-ul-Uqul, Volume 3, Page 304, Hadith 7]
